Creeeeeepy! This is a very good movie. Finally a horror movie that isn't cheesy.
The Ingenuity Gap by Thomas Homer Dixon, Sept 12, 2002
This book is a wake up call that I think everyone needs to read. I read a few of Dixon's articles before we got the book which got me hooked. This guy is very intelligent. The book is enlightening, and a bit frightening.
You can check out some articles on his
website.
The Colour of Paradise, Sept 11, 2002
Iranian film in Farsi with English subtitles. You just have to see it. I bawled my head off. It is such a beautiful film. The little boy....oh I just can't say it, I am going to start crying again. Just rent this movie and buy Kleenex. This is definately one of my all time favs.
Burnt By The Sun, July 25, 2002
This is a French/Russian film which I highly recommend watching as a prerequisite for American Comrades who wish to join Citizen Corps.
One word sums up this film. Bleak. It is a great story told from an unusual perspective.
Donnie Darko July 24, 2002
See it. It's worth it. You may be wondering why you have never heard of this movie. Unfortunately this film came out in the fall of last year and it features a devastating plane crash.
It wasn't in the theatres for long. It's too bad because it is a great movie.
Minority Report July 24, 2002
Loved it.
Bourne Identity July 23, 2002
I saw the movie and read the book. They are completely different. Although I love Franka Potente and I think she played the role brilliantly,
I find it interesting that her character is significantly different in the book. The book describes her as an extremely intelligent doctor of economics working
for the Canadian government. In the book, she is the one who devises the brilliant schemes. Jason Bourne is just a fighting machine.
Makes me wonder why they changed it for the movie. Smart geek girls don't sell? Cool surfer girls do? Perhaps.
